SOULed Out, Bangsar South.

I am back in action! It has been a pleasent day of pampering myself and buying belated Christmas presents for my close friends.

Right after getting some gifts for my friends, I rushed down to this particular place as I had a date with my friend known as SOULed Out, I believe it is a mixed up cuisine restaurant/bar. it is located at the heart of Bangsar South, Nexus. I've heard about this place from one of my friend who lives in Hartamas as she did mentioned to me before there's one branch in Hartamas before Bangsar South so I believe it is probably one of the first branch in KL.

Yeah, this is SOULed OUT, it is easy to spot the bar/restaurant because it is right at the end on your left and probably the only restaurant that takes up the space. Here's some of the pictures I captured last night:-

See the corner right? That's the kitchen where the chef pass the food to the waiter/waitress to deliver food to the customers.

In every restaurant, there sure is something inspirational for all of us to remember.

And another one.

Layout of the restaurant.

Christmas tree made of alcoholic beverages bottles. Cute isn't it?

He decided to give me one of his best shots! (His pose... Hahahhaha)

Welcoming the year of 2015! Oh yay! \^_^/

Here's the menu of this restaurant. Not bad:-

Price? Pricy. Well, what do you expect from a high class looking place? Sigh.

But hey, that doesn't mean it is a sin to try something new out! My friend and I ordered this Classic Mojito which cost us RM19 (Happy hour) which ends at 8pm. Original price is RM2x.

We were looking at the menu for quite some time because we didn't know what to order, too many to choose in different sections. To our surprise in the end, we decided to go for their Indian Food.

This is what I ordered. Cost me RM22 and it is selected as one of the best aka recommended must try (well I saw the logo of a mouth which indicates it should be one of the best to try) i can either choose naan or rice but I choose naan because I love naan.

To my surprise I thought it is going to taste like any other typical Indian food but heck this is probably the best Indian food ever I've tasted in my life! Portion is huge, a lot of small chicken meat covered with thick special sauce which is so special, that white colour thingy looks like some kind of mayonnaise with vegetable but somehow it tasted like Indian Yogurt with small cuts of vegetables, I like everything about it except that green peas at the side. -.-

Both of our meal. Left is mine, the right side is my friend's picked which is fish. Instead of naan, she choose rice and rice tasted so good!! Fish is tender and the portion is so worth it for RM25.

This is the Classic Mojito we ordered that cost us RM19. Comes with refreshing mint leaves and some other kind of special flavoring that I do not know what to describe it. It is definitely refreshing enough that the both of us shared this drink. Hey, it is good to try something new, right?

The bill didn't turned out very nice for the both of us, we had to burnt our purses to pay for the service tax and GST since there were only both of us. Screw our lives. But good experience, great atmosphere, good for those who want to gather with their friends and family as they do have kids meal too :) quite cute though.

Friendly staff, they are quite attentive and helpful too.

Yes, they do have WIFI for those who wants to surf the net and update their friends via social network.

Brewyard Cafe, SS15, Subang Jaya

My friend came back from Australia so he decided to bring me to this cafe located in Subang Jaya.

I would say that it is the only odd shoplot that holds on a vintage kind of feel that you know that it is already a hipster cafe in that row. Hahahaha.

So here's the inside outlook of the cafe:-

Check out the interior. It feels like I am dining in an indoor park (eg ; the stones and the walk through is already like one) I like the design. It seems really cosy and quiet too. No wonder I've seen a few students/ppl who work nearby settling down with their laptops and doing their work. It is spacious on the other side, this is only 25% of the cafe. I like the toilet too. (I KIDD)

Didn't manage to take the front part and the backyard because I became too excited and was looking forward for the food :D

Friend ordered this pizza. It is quite small but tasty. Meant for one person meal only. It taste like cheese (IKR) *insert LOL emoticon with tears*

My friend's coffee. Just had a sip of the coffee and you know I am not really a fan of coffee cause certain coffees are pretty much bitter and would rather go for chocolate-coffee kind of thing (if that ever exists) LOL

And this is what I had for lunch. Brewyard had this lunch set meal comes with one ice lemon tea. This costs me rm13. Fries with turkey ham wrapped. Fries is quite salty but the seasoning is pretty much unique, the wraps aren't so bad. After all it is turkey and this is probably my late Christmas meal (so much for not eating turkey on Christmas)

Stayed there for almost 3-4 hours because I was busy playing Fun Run and chilling. Yeap, that explains how much I love that place and it is good for those who wants to chill, to have dessert and coffee over with their friends, to do their work in such environment like that.

I apologize for not being able to take more pictures of this cafe because I was too excited.

In case you are wondering whether this cafe provides wifi, yes wifi is available.

Here's the address:-

This outlet is a small cafe with limited choices but enough to cure your cravings.

\\ Topping : toasted coconut flakes, Mangoes.
\\ Cempedak Sponge with fresh cempedak and cempedak cream

Meet Fresh, Pavillion KL

Decided to go Meet Fresh after my dissapointed visit to the Kenko Fish Spa
You can literally count the fishes with your fingers, no im not exegerating at all.
I have only max 20 fishes only.
You cant even get to feel the nibble nibble feeling anymore compared to the past.
I Will NEVER go back anymore.

// Did you know that, meet fresh not only serves desserts, but food as well?
// Serving is small. Like kids meal. So we wont get full for their desserts?

// Carbonara

// Green curry chicken

Take a guess what is this
*roll drum*
Is actually nasi lemak. Hehe

// The recommended mango ice special

\\Rate : 3/5
\\ Just so so, not too special
\\ is just mango with shaved ice and ice cream
\\ No, no hidden treasure inside hahahah.

// Purple rice porridge with taro ball RM5.90

\\Rate 4/5
\\the sweetness of it is alright
\\ Im not even a fan of purple glutinous rice but i can finish almost 2/3 of it.
\\ You should give it a try :)

And not forgetting, my favourite mochi.
// Q mochi! RM8.90

\\Rate 3/5
\\ just so so, not really the mochi i would go for again.
\\ Prefer the japanese version more
\\ this mochi is kinda chewy (maybe thats why they name is as q mochi?)
\\ If you have no expectation for mochi or have not tried mochi, you can try this to acquire the taste first

Nana's Green Tea

Nana's Green Tea Cafe has reached to KL and the first branch finally launched in Garden's Mall and now 1Utama!

I am a big fan of green tea :)) and im so happy and glad is coming to KL after reading all the reviews from singapore bloggers.

Mid Valley's branch is very packed (all the time), but trust me is worth the time waiting for table as their foods are in reasonable range.

These are the food I would recommend:

1) Matcha Shiratama Float
RM14.80
Matcha latte with mochi and green tea ice cream

2) Seafood Goma Dare Udon
RM26.80
This cold udon is very nice :)
It serves with seafoods like prawn, scallop, squid, avocado, and Nana's special sesame sauce.

3) chicken cutlet curry
RM16.80
I love japanese food especially japanese curry.
Trust me you should try this, their portion of chicken and also curry is SO HUGE.
I will come back for this again!

And the desserts, tadah!!!
Matcha "Nam Chocolat" Parfait.
RM19.80
Yummyyyy. This parfait serves with matcha chocolate ganache, red bean paste, corn flakes, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream with matcha syrup and Kanten Jelly.

Many might not like that matcha chocolate ganache because is bitter.
You can try the mild ones if you cannot accept strong green tea.

See how "kau" this thing is?
Yummeh. I am so gonna come back again.

LOCATION :

  1. Mid Valley City
  2. Lot 231A LG FLoor, The Gardens Mall, Lingkaran Syed Putra, Mid Valley City, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

Acme bar coffee at troika, Jalan Binjai

Lately, breakfast set is now a trend here in KL and the prices for breakfast set had almost standardize within an affordable range now. (For now only, as the price is increasing lately)
Everyone can now afford for breakfast set without feeling guilty for spending so much due to our money value and also inflation hehe

Today’s café hunting will be the Acme Bar & Coffee at Jalan Ampang.
Decided to give this a try thanks to its sizzling chocolate brownie
You may park your car inside so you wont risking your car kena tow away lol
Park near Tower A so you can take the lift up and the café is just on the right after entrance
The interior of the Café is really breathtakingly stunning, their furnitures matched with the ambience One word to best describe the café, stylish!
Didn’t manage to take any photo of the interior as too many eyes are looking awkwardly at me haha!

Their restroom is designed in a very unique way compared to other restrooms that I had been to.

Magnum Cafe @ Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur.

So basically, the trend after burgers, now they are targeting desserts for a change. If you ever wondered how can one open a cafe with their own creativity (ig. Burger with watermelon and some weird ingredients and sauce can make it as a top 1 cafe in town or maybe, a nasi lemak flavoured ice cream which I had tried in Paradigm Mall, LG floor - can't recall what's the name of the shop but it is situated at the corner and it is near the escalator. Somehow it feels like I am eating a very cold nasi lemak that has been kept in a freezer for days) however it is, it is still good)

Now, it is Magnum Cafe! That typical magnum that you see in supermarkets and mini markets comes with its very own dessert and now has its own shop. Amazing isn't it? Before that there was this strawberry magnum ice cream and two more others, after that it was the Magnum Gold which I haven't tried yet (someday) and NOW, they have their own cafe with customized ice cream (that you can now customize your own flavour and topping) and has a selection of dessert.

Heard it was famous in Bangkok. Now, they decided to open one in Malaysia and I believe this is the first cafe that open in Mid Valley for Malaysia.

I was there when they launched the cafe and heck, the queue was so long that I heard from my friend that the queue was up to Pet's Wonderland! I was aware that the first 500 customers (correct me
If I am wrong) to come can get free customized ice cream. ._. Didn't want to queue up that long so my friends and I arrive in the afternoon and decided to book a place upstairs (Did I tell you that Magnum Ice Cream has two level which is upstairs and downstairs?) Upstairs is for the customized ice cream, downstairs is like the dessert and the drinks area.

Right after we placed our names on the waiting list, we went to the Cantin (another restaurant to have something light - it is a new place and it isn't so bad) didn't manage to take a picture but will definitely review about that place on my second visit.

After an hour, we came back and we got our seats inside! :D

Service on the first day was pretty bad because the amount of people who queues up and eat would take some time for our desserts to come. Most of the dishes on the menu weren't available and left only a few selection for us to try. Our food only came in after an hour for each.

We decided to try this because we were curious to know how does it taste like

This is known as the magnum soup!

If you are a health freak, go for this. Price is RM22. Small portion, quite disappointing after waiting for an hour for this. It is just typical vanilla ice cream with some Japanese biscuits and herbs and ingredients that reminds me so much like Chinese food. Soup is rather disappointing as well. Too small portion. Size of a sugar jar for tea.

And here comes the second dessert that we ordered:-

This is 101% better than the other one. The chocolate aka brownie cake was served hot and fresh given by two ice cream (one seems to be like a customized ice cream but they customize it for you LOL and the bottom one is a vanilla ice cream). This is definitely not disappointing at all. Though it is RM30 but I would rather pay for that price compare to that RM22 dessert above.

It was limited and the best ones were all out of stock. Left alone was just a few selection.

I tried their hot chocolate too which cost RM14. Very dark chocolate taste-kind-of-feel. Not bad but taste a little bit like Cadbury Dark chocolate to be honest.

Not recommended to go on a weekend unless you are ready to embrace the extremely long queue. :O
